Sizes at 1x. A PNG stores pixels, so its size grows with the square of the scale: 2x is about 4 times the pixels and 4x about 16 times. An SVG stays the same size at any scale.
How do you get a high-resolution PNG from an SVG?

An SVG to PNG converter draws the vector at a pixel size and saves the result. The SVG's own width and height set the 1x size, and many icons are only 16 to 64 pixels, which looks blurry on a modern screen. Choose 2x or 4x above: the vector is redrawn at the larger size, so edges stay sharp, unlike enlarging a finished PNG.
The background stays transparent. One limit to know: an SVG that embeds HTML through a foreignObject element, which diagrams exported from tools such as draw.io often do, cannot be exported by any browser. The converter tells you when that happens. Export those diagrams as PNG from the app that made them.

How do I convert SVG to PNG at high resolution?
Select SVG size 2x or 4x before you convert. A 64 x 64 icon becomes 128 x 128 or 256 x 256 pixels, drawn from the vector paths, so it stays sharp. For an exact pixel width, set the width attribute in the SVG first.
Does SVG to PNG keep a transparent background?
Yes. The SVG is drawn on a transparent canvas and PNG stores the alpha channel, so anything the SVG does not paint stays transparent.
Why did my SVG convert at 300 pixels wide or at 1024 x 1024?
The SVG has no width and height of its own. Browsers then use a default width of 300 pixels and take the height from the viewBox shape. If the browser reports no size at all, the converter uses 1024 x 1024. Add width and height attributes to the root svg element to control it.
Why do fonts look different in the PNG?
An SVG image cannot load web fonts from outside the file, so text set in a web font falls back to a system font. Convert the text to outlines in your design tool, or embed the font in the SVG, before converting.
Why does my SVG fail with an export error?
The file contains a foreignObject element, which embeds HTML. Browsers block exporting any canvas that has drawn one, for security. Draw.io and some chart libraries add it for text labels. Export the PNG from that tool instead.
